June update: There will be a comprehensivetest on "Frankenstein"when we finish reading Chapter 24 (the final chapter). The test will include a character match and some vocabulary. Add these words to your packet if you did not do so in school: TYRO - a beginner, FORTNIGHT - two weeks, SLOTHFUL - lazy, and FLAGRANT - glaringly bad.
We will read two short stories to complete our British Literature studies. They are Doris Lessing's No Witchcraft for Sale on p. 1328 of your text, and George Orwell's Shooting an Elephant on p. 1318. We will read them in class, but if you should be absent then you can read them on your own. Both stories are included on the final exam.
On Monday, June 1, I will give you the regular vocabulary words that appear on the final exam, and we'll cover the topics covered on the exam.
As we approach the end of the year, and your graduation, I want to say that I have enjoyed teaching your class, wish all of you the very best life has to offer, and hope that you will always believe in yourself and be proud of who you are. Congratulations on your graduation!!!! Even you, TJ!!!
